Love Me Like A Man--Bonnie Raitt

HOW 'BOUT A MAN?

Folks, it's about time Dorian had a man with whom to find love and comfort. She's a dynamic woman, who used to be portrayed as a sexual being as well. But let me say I want to see her with a M-A-N.  I think Bonnie Raitt has it right. "Oh they want me to rock'em like my back ain't got no bone. Why don't you rock me one time like my… backbone was ya own?"  Really, think about those lines and not just in the physical sense. Ah, I love the Blues. It gets right to the heart of the matter. Her lover's gotta be someone who treats her as an equal and respects her opinions and strength as a woman. Dorian is a vibrant diva but right now she has no sex life or even a male companion with whom to go out and have fun. She does not need to be lessened as a woman to make the man appear strong. That is often times a trap of convenience in writing or it's simply a writer who doesn't understand or appreciate the complexities of womanhood and the power of a woman.

I've been uploading some clips of Dorian's relationship with Mel Hayes. They fought constantly, made love, fought some more, had intelligent conversations. Theirs was a relationship of great passions. I'm not sure it was just the writing but the enthusiasm of the performers and how they saw their characters in the relationship. Anyway, it all made me long to see Dorian free to be herself and to love with that kind of abandon again.

A STORY YOU SAY?

I am hearing rumblings of something in development with the introduction of A Martinez in the role of Ray Montez, who will be an uncle to Langston.

Because of what has already played out on screen with Clint plotting to get his company back, it will mean a return to the CE/BE storyline that captivated me as a viewer MONTHS ago. So can Dorian get a romance from this story? That's what I want. Dorian to get someone who can love her like a M-A-N.  Make it challenging. M ake it interesting. Make it unpredictably sexy. Give it some fight. Give it some bite. Give it some lovin'.

The TROUBLE with Charlie

I have watched the car wreck scenes with Dorian and Viki a few times, the scenes during the anniversary episode with Dorian and Mel and most recently I've viewed the episode where Dorian tells Blair that Mel believes she has feelings for Charlie. OK, I am lost. Dorian says Mel is wrong when he says that she has feelings for Charlie but aren't Dorian's conversations with Mel really ones Dorian is having in her head with herself? I've always viewed Dorian's intent with Charlie to be more about her animus toward Viki and her desire to prevent him from ruining her BE takeover. The exception is when Charlie discovered Dorian hit by a car in Texas and she first brought him to Llanview.  There seemed to be a friendship but never really a romantic inclination. So I am intrigued to see where Ron Carlivati is going with this assertion about Charlie since I do not believe Dorian is romantically interested in him.
