Herb Callison back for the show's 40th anniversary? Now there's a thought (wink).
  Go here: 40th Anniversary.

Once upon a time, there was a girl born to Lou and Sonya Cramer in Canton, Ohio. Her name was Dorian Cramer and she grew up to be a beautiful, feisty diva, who lives in Llanview, Pennsylvania.  Dorian has a foster daughter (Langston Wilde) and an extended family of her niece (Blair Manning) and her niece's husband  (Todd) and their children (Starr, Jack, Sam) living with her in her home, called LaBoulaie. Dorian's sister and Blair's mother, Addie, also lives at LaBoulaie. The house is full of people and plenty of drama. Most recently, Todd attacked Starr's boyfriend, Cole and threatened to charge the young teen with rape, if not attempted manslaughter for something unrelated. Through much of it all, Dorian has seemed the voice of reason in her household as she counseled Starr about over romanticizing the relationship with Cole. Along the way, Dorian refused a desperate Starr's plea to see Cole, which Starr desired after her father cut off communication between the seemingly star-crossed would-be lovers. All in all, it is enough to keep Dorian busy but not too busy to hide her deep wounds and woes following the sudden break up with her cowboy millionaire boyfriend, Clint Buchanan, who dumped her.

Dorian is also busy mixing up trouble for Viki Davidson in Viki's new romance with Charlie Banks. She has a secret that she is willing to keep about the identity of Charlie's son, Jared, since she believes it will hurt Viki and get back at Clint; soon, she also hopes to use her knowledge to distance her daughter, Adriana from her fiance, Rex.

Dorian is busy; yet, her ostentatious presentation and take no prisoners bitchery doesn't hide the lack of substance in her life. It all begs the question that Addie kind of asked. "What does Dorian Cramer want?" Might I pray that OLTL Head Writer Ron Carlivati planned to get at some basic essence of Dorian by writing a story for Ms. Strasser that has some substantial impact and relevance to her character? As a faithful viewer and fan, I want to know the answer to Addie's inquiry.

Don't get me wrong. I love Dorian when she is unpredictable and has a glint of devilment in the eye. (BTW, Strasser is such the actress when it comes to layering her character that I can't help but wonder if she isn't hurting Viki and Charlie the way that she believes Nora came between her and Clint. She's twisted like that. Just listen to her talk about how she befriended Charlie while he lived in her home and how close they became.)  Well as I wonder, I am getting the feeling Dorian's story is pretty much stalled in quagmire as are others; and naturally, that is because Head Writer Carlivati set the show's stories in motion but he has been vacant from OLTL during the Writers' Strike, which is now over.  And now that it is over, I want some focus on what Dorian Cramer  wants.  Carlivati was still writing when he had Addie make the statement that suggested Dorian stop trying to be a Viki wannabe. Let's hope now that Carlivati is aboard ship that he remembers what he set in motion for Dorian and that the motivation for some of her actions gain clarity.
