Robin Strasser, who was not in attendance for the bowling event, volunteered to do a OLTL studio tour as part of an online auction that raised money for the American Cancer Society's Research Department.

_{Clint and Bo mourn the death of their father, Asa Buchanan}

OLTL is selected as "Editors' Choice" in Soap Opera Digest (9.18.07) for episodes that commemorated the 10,000th episode and the death of Asa Buchanan. This designation honors the best in Daytime for the week. As you know by now, the referred to episodes aired Aug. 16th and Aug. 17th. "If it weren't for the show deserving Editors' Choice, we'd have had a long list of people to choose from for Performer of the Week. Emmy noms should surely go to Robert S. Woods (Bo), for his portrayal of the son who believed he was never good enough for his Pa, and Jerry verDorn (Clint) as the son determined to prove him wrong."

All About OLTL's Clint Buchanan

Mourning Death and Celebrating Life

Recently, Llanviewers said good-bye to town patriarch Asa Buchanan, who died in his sleep. Asa is the father of Clint Buchanan who is played by Jerry verDorn. On Friday, August 17th, One Life to Live also celebrated 10,000 episodes. The shows dealing with Asa's death aired on Thursday and Friday.

As one would expect, verDorn and Bob Woods, who plays Asa's son Bo, were prominently featured during these episodes. On Friday's show, Clint helped his little brother come to grips with the anger he felt toward his father. Bo drank heavily with his thoughts of never measuring up to his larger-than-life father's expectations. verDorn solidly supported Woods as he took Bo through feelings of intense anger that brought the brothers to near blows before quiet resolution as the younger Buchanan simply held his father's hat in his hand. Together, Woods and verDorn were the highlight of the show and made Asa's death more poignant as viewed through the eyes of his sons.

These shows, written by new Head Writer Ron Carlivati, seemed to shift focus to the core families of the Buchanans, the Lords and the Cramers.
