MY Emmy Pics for 2007

Robin Strasser recently asked Hotline callers to write her and let her know what shows they think as viewers are her best performances for 2007. She is one of three in the OLTL Lead Actress pre-nomination category. She has until February 28th to submit TWO air shows of her work for Emmy consideration. TOP Pick Aired on Tuesday, November 20 2007

Dorian wakes up with David and soon realizes that she may have lost Clint, who discovers them in bed together. I picked this episode because the story centers on Robin's character. It doesn't involve any of the other OLTL lead actress contenders and it strengthens the second selection that I've chosen. I don't think the "Jezebel" reference hurts either.

Dorian and Clint break up.

Again, this is centered on the character of Dorian Lord and the end of her relationship. I think it is the best episode of Robin's work for 2007 with the writing to back it up.

Run time= 8:12

Clint and Dorian's relationship is put to the test; Social Services comes to take Langston away. This is the Oct. 16th OLTL episode. I have two separate episode captures. One shows the relationship between Clint/Dorian being put to a test and the other is later when Dorian shows up in the park and tries to take Langston home with her when the Social Services worker intercedes. This episode was another of my top choices.

Clint and Dorian's relationship is tested.

Miss Woodruff Takes Langston To Group Home - Run time 8:16

Miss Woodruff, a Child Services Social Worker, sees Langston in the park across from the school. Despite pleas from Dorian and others, a tearful Langston is taken to a group home.

The Truth 9:52

Dorian tells Langston she knows the truth about the death of Langston's parents.

Langston Lashes Out At Dorian 7:17

Langston suffers the loss and devastation of being confronted with the truth by lashing out at Dorian. Markko stops by Langston's home and she tells him what happened to her parents. Later she leaves with Dorian for LaBoulaie.

The storyline involving Langston is my favorite one of 2007. I really debated if these shows were better than the ones I ultimately chose as my top picks. For me, the difference was the focus of story was more on Langston in these pieces whereas the above shows that I ultimately picked were about Dorian.

Dorian and Viki are locked in the Buchanan mansion following Asa's death.

Wine Cellar Run time=7:31

Excellent show. OLTL will likely submit it anyway as best show. So, how 'bout another selection?

Dorian befriends Charlie (Banks), who finds her after she has been hit by a car. Robin had great material in this episode and as always, she delivered! A plus for me as a viewer is that it was focused on the character of Dorian. (I didn't include the part of the episode when she was discovered by Charlie.)

Cramer Christmas, Part 1
Christmas Cramer-style with an Adriana/Blair fight and a visit from Addie, who is surprisingly glamorous! Dorian is in the middle of it all. Fasten your seat belts! Dorian is more of a support player.

Cramer Christmas,Part 2

Dorian is unsettled by Addie's state of normalcy. The rest of the Cramer family is delighted at the change in her mental state. Robin's performance really pulls this piece together. Her fear and concerns totally make me feel unsettled by the turn of events with Addie and draw me into a realm of suspense.

"Why?" music video
The Buchanans are engaged in a game of poker when interrupted by Dorian, who is surprised to learn from Asa that Clint has spent the night at Llanfair. Dorian goes to Llanfair and confronts Clint. She asks Clint if she is wasting her time with him. The episode aired on 1.3.07. I don't have this entire episode on video clip but this music video was based on the 1.3.07 episode. The show bothered me because I identified with Dorian's pain. Robin made it real. It's too bad I don't have the entire episode to fully judge it but I certainly remember the impact.

Date for a Robbery

Robin earned "Performer of the Week," in Soap Opera Digest for this episode. The Soap Opera Digest "Performer of the Week" article is located here: 4.24.07, POW. Dorian is robbed and nearly misses a date with Clint. This was early in the year and compared to the other selections, I don't see this as a top pick. Clint chooses to leave Viki. An important episode for Dorian but not enough Robin in the piece. The work was beautifully done.The Choice-Broadband Run time: 21:17

Clint tells Dorian that he wants her and she is his choice. This episode is deserving of being mentioned. Heart to Heart-Broadband Run time: 5:49

Dorian goes to Viki's intending to tell her off and instead finds David and Viki in a compromising situation. OLTL Viki/David/Dorian (6/29/07) Run time: 6:06

Dorian orchestrates the wedding of Todd and Blair. Another episode deserving of mention because of the difficulty level with the blocking, etc. I am not sure it is so much Emmy worthy as it is a marvel to behold as Ms. Strasser pulls it off!
